What happens when you’re single and you hit a bar? Your eye roves and yes there’s that cute looking gal or guy just sitting over there all willing to chat. So you go over, you chat and the whole thing either warms or cools and life goes on.
Now you can do that digitally. A new dating app which is getting a lot of attention is ‘Tinder’.
It’s designed to let you replicate the experience I’ve just outlined.
The app lets you and others upload facebook pictures without any identifying details. Then you enter your preferences for who you want to contact and you’ll get a stream of photos which you can click through and approve or not, just like you would in a bar.
Then if there’s 2 mutual approves you can chat and see how good the fit is then if you want to arrange a meetup in person go ahead.
It seems to have all the usefulness of locality based apps and the advantage of replicating the bar experience outlined above, in other words how we do it in person right from the start. Right now this dating app is flavor of the month. Let’s see whether it proves it’s worth longtime. COMMENT on whether you think it is useful and LIKE dating howevr it happens.
