What an intensely wonderful New York moment is shown in this video. It just sums up so much about New York. Where else in the whole world would this have been possible or so right.
The backstory to the video is the New York 3 member group Beastie Boys was forever silenced when one of the trio Adam Yanunch died of cancer in 2012.
The group, and especially Yaunch had always supported the freedom of the Tibetan peope and the video of the 4 months breakdancing to Beastie Boys music is a tribute by them to Yaunch.
Starting out hardcore punk in NYC, the city is forever associated with their music, they transitioned into hip-hop and became one of the longest lived hip hop acts worldwide.
The beastie Boys have famously resisted the licensing of their music and have just won a big payout when their music was used commercially without their permission.
They are still highly acclaimed but their decision to honor Yaunch by not continuing after his death is very understandable. So watch this great video and reflect on how this dance, by these people in a New York City park is indeed a wonderful tribute ine very way to a great musician and singer.
