The Metropolitan Transport Authority, MTA has just done it’s extra special good deed for the year.
It’s restored a beautiful old building sitting on top of the Fulton Center subway exchange.
They could have torn it down but this eight story beauty built in 1889, has been saved, restored and repurposed by it’s integration into the Fulton Center exchange.
So much of the charm of NYC is the rich mix of buildings which allows any NYC native or wide-eyed visitor to see the sweep of NYC history just by walking down the street.
As you will see in the video, this building has beautiful terra cotta detailing, glorious brickwork and an elegance that is all part of it’s 19th Century origins.
Thank you MTA. We all benefit by this marriage of history and commerce. LIKE the old buildings of NYC
