New York’s Bike Sharing program has begun and it’s obviously popular.
Last Saturday if you were down near the Hudson River Park you would have seen a steady stream of people riding by on the distinctive blue share bikes mixed in with the owner ridden bikes.
And the useage figures bear this out. Bike share NYC style has proved very popular.
However there are definitely glitches. Such as if you ride a share bike to work there’s no guarantee there will be a docking place free near where you finish your ride.
And sometimes the computers don’t work and you can’t pay for a ride. Of course some residents are furious at how much space the docking stations take up.
But the overall impression is a city eager to get on with using its new blue bikes and loving the choice of riding a bike instead of taking the subway or walking. LIKE NYC’s new bikes
