New Yorkers love their furry friends. Just look at the large number on leashes in the streets or small ones being carried in handbags. But it’s not so easy to take your dog on the subway.
They’re not allowed unless theya re tightly boxed up in an enclosed canine carrier. Not even therapy dogs are exempt from this ban but police and service dogas are. If you get caught by an eagle eyed law enforcement officer you’ll get a summons to appear in court.
However as you can see from the video there are New Yorkers who take the risk and carry their dogs on the train with them and mostly passengers love dogs too and they just smile and enjoy ahving a bit of doggy company for while.
