All the celebrations for the Chinese New Year and everything Super Bowl are all happening at the same time. Use your time well and you can experience the best of both.
Chinese New Year celebrations kick off this weekend. Firstly with ongoing Walking Tours of Chinatown which will happen every Sat & Sunday until Feb 9. They start at the Museum of Chinese in America (MoCa) at 215 Centre St at 11am-12.30pm and 1 – 2.30pm
Then also on Sat Jan 25there’s a FREE concert and Lion Dance on at the Bronx Museum 1040 Grand Concourse, The Bronx.
Then Friday Jan 31, the Firecracker Ceremony & Festival is on at Roosevelt Park btw Hester & Grand Sts at 3.30pm
The Chines Institute Lion Dance, Sun Feb 2, is on at 11am-noon starting at 125 East 65th Sts.
And finally the 15th Annual Chinatown Lunar New York Parade & Festival is on at 1pm. The parade comes down Mott St, along Broadway and up Eldridge to Forsyth. Then you up sticks and dash across the river to Metlife Stadium and settle in to watch the Super Bowl. Whew! What a rush.
