The Times Square Alliance which manages Times Square, has over the years added more and more traditions to the whole New Year’s Eve experience. Added 5 years ago was the Wishing Wall where New Yorkers and visitors can pen their heartfelt wishes for 2015.
More than 15,000 have been collected so far in 2014, either online or directly from the wishing Wall located in Times Square. Some of the wishes are of course heartbreaking, wishes for loved ones to recover their health, for a job or for good fortune to shine on those in need.
All the wishes are put on colored paper then cut into 2 inch wide confetti ready to rain down as part of the New Year’s Eve celebration.
