Always great, NYC in spring, summer and fall sees an explosion of events in the City’s parks. Music, dance, Shakespeare, film, anything that you can imagine will be available for you at sometime, mostly free and always enjoyable. The jewel in the crown of this wealth of entertainment goodies is Summerstage.
Now in it’s 30th season, getting richer and deeper in quality and range as it goes along, events start this weekend and go on until October. There are events spreading out across all 5 boroughs which give performance space to a dizzying mix of performance genres, from opera to hip hop, blurgrass to classical, avante-garde to circus performers.
The Tedeschi Trunks band will kick off this season in Central Park 6-10pm on Saturday May 16th in Rumset Playfield. It’s an 11 piece band that plays very vanguard roots music, see the video. And
