One of the premier events of the NYC Sporting Calendar, the U.S. Open held this year from August 31-September 13 also holds a special treat in store for all Americans. One of the world’s best ever tennis stars, SerenaWilliams is going for a Grand Slam and her 22nd Major title, see her winning match point in the Australia Open earlier this year.
Given the opening of the tennis tournament is only a couple of weeks away, accommodation will be hard to get, but tickets are still available at U.S. Open
The U.S. Open is held at the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center at Flushing Meadow – Corona Park, Flushing Queens. The easiest way to get there is using either the L Train or the LIRR (Long Island Rail Road) to Mets – Willets Point. Forget about driving, parking is a nightmare and who wants the hassle.
If you can’t get tickets or you want to watch in comfort, find a NYC sports Bar that has plenty of big screens on which you can watch it and settle in. Make sure you check out whether they are just showing highlights or the whole thing.
Grab a group of fellow tennis fans, settle in with some beer and good food and then cheer on your fqavorites. NYC sports bars are finely tuned to the sports zeitgeist and there will be plenty offering excellent views of what’s happening.
