Dominos is making a big splash about its trial of Drones to deliver Pizza but have you really thought about the difficulties of using one in NYC Dominos?
No GPS yet, so how does the drone interpret Apartment 312 , 5th floor, 360 Bleeker street.
Or the inhabitant of Apartment 312 has to race down to the ground floor and wait in the freezing cold while s/he waits for the sound of helicopter blades?
What is perfectly obvious is that New Yorkers like their preferred food delivered hot and in the shortest time possible.
So we can predict improved systems to achieve that end, which will probably involve clever ways of ordering locally and using very fast, but legal of course, bike riders to get it to hungry New Yorkers in a specified time.
If the drones idea persists look forward to thousands of drones bashing into each other as they navigate the narrow streets of most of New York. LIKE good fast food delivered to the door.
