Young Kayleigh Peterson fulfilled the day dreams of many young female hockey fans by actually getting to don the Blue Jersey and skate out solo as the latest recruit to the New York Rangers, see the videeo
Given she is the only female recruit in the 89 years history of this famous Ice Hockey team, naturally there is a backstory to this extraordinary achievement.
Kayleigh had to have a liver transplant soon after her birth and she has since taken up hockey, successfully, excelling in her Intro to Hockey lessons and when she took part in a Full Day Hockey Camp.
Even that would not have got her there but the ‘Make A Wish’ foundation helped things along. Their mission is to do their best to help children dealing with health challenges have their dreams come true. And so Kayleigh’s ‘dream’ was fulfilled Fox News Story
Keep thriving Kayleigh and nothing would give New Yorkers greater pleasure than to see you in another 8 years time skate out onto the ice as a badass ice hockey player in whichever team you choose to play with,
