Great to see Pablo Prigioni warming up so effectively to Tinashe’s hit 2 on. Pity it didn’t do any good. In their last game the Knicks managed to squander a 66-61 lead in the third quarter and let the Pheonix Suns beat them into the ground to become the winners.
With the Knicks now 5-24 everyone is now scratching their heads. Is it the players, the dreaded triangle that somehow the Knicks haven’t mastered, the rookie coach or is this just a not very good basketball team and it’s unfixable until they can jettison all their not so good players and let new fresh talented blood into the team?
What is not disputed is that while the Knicks show some solid form at various points in games, it’s never sustained. Why is that? Why aren’t we seeing some solid, sensible soul searching going on here that shows everyone is aware of what the problems are and they’re focused on fixing them?
Phil Jackson is a terrible disappointment. He hasn’t injected, hope, skill or cohesion into this team. He hasn’t even put together a recognizable future plan that would give fans hope and let them think that he’s right on the ball and actively following strategic plans to fix things. It’s pretty clear the ‘triangle’ as a future plan hasn’t panned out.
Fans are really disappointed and they’re losing heart. Who is taking responsibility for the current situation? No-one, certainly not Phil Jackson. Look let’s have a bit of honesty. Fess up everyone, tell us what you’re thinking especially about how to rejuvenate this team. Give your loyal fans some hope instead of this awful sense of loss and emptiness after each game. Fans are resilient, they can put with a lot if they know a team is working to make things better.
