Lemonade is made for the hot weather, if the NYC weather Gods would just stop with the on again off again with the current bursts of rain that can kind of ruin the spirit of summer.
However NYC will, as it usually does, get blistering hot sometime soon and you’ll be in great need of a good drink of cold lemonade.
You have a choice of making your own or buying from the 1000’s of NYC shops that sell it.
If you go for DIY the best recipe is: 1/4 cup honey, ¼ cup sugar, 1 cup water, boiled gently together to create a syrup, chill then add in juice of 6-8 lemons freshly squeezed and 2-3 cups of water depending on what strength you want. (Be adventurous and add vodka)
If you want to buy yours go first to Kitchenette, the standout place n NYC. It’s in Tribeca and Uptown.
Others you can try are The Meatball shop, multiple locations, The Stand, multiple locations and the Del’s frozen lemonade Food Truck.
Of course practically everyone sells a lemonade but the great ones have fresh lemon juice , not the fake lemon syrup stuff. Good drinking. Love a great lemonade on a hot NYC day.
