There’s been a touching story in all NYC newspapers this week about a Times Square Barker finding a cat which it turned out had been lost on Long Island 2 yrs ago and him then being returned to his owner because he was microchipped.
The ever wonderful Mayor’s Animal Alliance in NYC holds microchipping events in your neighborhood if you request one. The microchip will cost you $25 and relieve possibly years of worry about what has happened to your beloved pet.
The video is one of Betty White talking very engagingly about pet microchipping and that’s the reason I’ve put it up. She is touting a private microchipping solution but it doesn’t matter if you cat or dog gets microchipped through the Mayor’s Alliance or privately, as long as it happens.
Betty very engagingly tells us about what microchipping is and how it happens.
The microchip itself is no bigger than a grain of rice and it doesn’t hurt to have it implanted.
So go to a Vet or contact the NYC Mayors Animal Alliance to have a neighborhood microchipping get together and make your pets safe from being lost permanently. COMMENT on microchipping and LIKE being able to reunite pets and their owners.
