On the weekend Donald Ng, keen NYC fisherman, was very lucky. He had a cell phone with him so when his kayak started to take on water a mile off Coney Island, he phoned a friend and that friend notified the NYPD.
The NYPD sprang into action and sent 2 divers in a helicopter who then jumped into the water to keep Donald afloat while a NYPD boat motored it’s way to the waterlogged fisherman and his 2 diver mates from the helicopter.
Donald was then put on the boat and he’s now fine and very, very glad he lives in 2016 when there’s so many ways to get help. Well done everyone!
