Well there was that great time when the Knicks and the Nets though obviously different teams and in different places were shadwoing each other in a good way when both won the first of their round 1 games in the NBA playoffs.
It was a nice New York moment even given all the differences between the teams. The 2 NBA New York Teams doing well.
Now with game 4 of round 1 just having been completed both teams are shadowing each other again but not in a good way.
Going into the game the Nets were already in a less than stellar spot, down 2-1 to the Bulls. And then right at the end of Game 4 what looked like an easy victory turned to ashes and the the Nets are now down 3-1 and facing elimination.
The Knicks meanwhile came into game 4 with a 3-0 lead over the Celtics and looking to make it 4 straight and a week of no playing. But the loss of J.R. Smith to the team and Melo not quite up to form and they too lost their game.
However with both New York teams losing their game 4 matches the teams are clearly now on different paths. The Nets are in a very precarious position and the Knicks can just see one round 1 loss as a bump in the road. Good luck to both teams for game 5. Basketball is a volatile game, lets hope it all moves towards victory for the Knicks and while it would it be great to see the Nets do well, it’s a very hard thing for them to win all remaining games in the round which is what they have to do at this stage to avoid elimination.
