See the great video attached to this post. It’s new and compares New York to Everywhere. Hugeness is the result, New York city is big, big, big, so how do any of us feel ‘at home’ in a city so very large? How does anyone construct their personal New York, reducing all that hugeness to the rhythm, comforts and delights of each of the millions who live here?
Firstly you find your very own space, not just where you live but the spaces which become familiar and dear to you, the places you can go to without thought and know what is there, your village within the hugeness.
Then you find not just what is familiar but what is nurturing and comforting because we all need comfort and peace as well as familiarity.
Once these 2 foundational experiences are in place you will find the parts of new York that allow you to be creative, to delve, to venture further than you have gone before, that bring a sense of recognizing your true self in an activity or experience.
Once you have found all these experiences which will of course change as you change you will have constructed your very own New York. LIKE all the possibilities in New York
