There’s always the rats, a couple of million of them, the squirrels everywhere, the hawks and eagles are making a comeback and now the coyotes, popping up in all sorts of cool NYC haunts, see the video of the one caught on the roof of a Queens bar.
Now a Chelsea Park has a resident coyote as well, though this healthy 2 year old male wasn’t as fleet of foot as he needed to be as he was captured and will be released in the Bronx. Coyotes have also been seen this year in the Upper West side and Stuyvesant Town.
Well the eagles and hawks prey on the squirrels and the rats and the coyotes eat small animals as well but can also be dangerous to dogs and cats though they are mostly nocturnal hunters and if you keep your pets inside at night they’re safe. So it’s not just the corporate sharks you have to be careful of in NYC, but the natural predators are out there in the streets grabbing what they can as well.
