New Yorkers you are magnificent. There is no end to the many, many things New Yorkers do for their compatriots.
Today I want to give a Shout Out to Ronald McDonald House and the New York Pops Orchestra.
Ronald McDonald House, funded and supported by volunteers and NY companies provides housing for 84 families. Kids from those families have cancer and the house is situated close to 14 major cancer treatment facilities so those families are supported in a range of ways while the kids have treatment.
The New York Pops orchestra is the largest independent pops orchestra in America and the only professional orchestra that focusses on Pops in NYC.
Members of the orchestra come to Ronald McDonald House twice a week and give singing and instrument playing lessons to the kids and you can bet it helps a kid with cancer to be a musician. See the great video and you will get the idea of just how important it is to these kids.
This year the NYC Pops Orchestra had a 30th Birthday Gala at Carnegie Hall and the Ronald McDonald House ‘Rockin The House Band And Chorus did backup. LIKE the wonderful work New Yorkers do to help each other.
