Of the many wonders of this ever amazing city, it is always incredible to discover how much world class art is freely available for everyone to appreciate if you know where to look.
Right now NYC’s garden spaces are getting ready to provide many riches especially for those who love not just gardens but also art.
First up BRYANT PART which from next Thursday until April 10 will be hosting a modular scultpure by Tony Smith called ‘One-Two-Three’ in a spot near the fountain terrace. This guy pioneered contemporary art in public spaces, so go along and see how you like it.
Then the ever wonderful NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN from May18 will be hosting fiberglass statues inspired by 16th Century spanish works of men with vegetable and flower heads. See the video clip for a preview of this show.
The METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART is gearing up for it’s always fantastic annual roof garden exhibtion, this year May 14-Nov 3, featuring intricate painting on the ground by a world renowned Pakistani Artist.
And finally, opening March 27, the Dahesh Museum of Art is having an exhibition at Christies of Orientalist painting, sculptures and illustrated books. All free just go along. Put all the dates in your diary and have a visual feast.
