New York’s Eataly in Flatiron is somewhere you can buy Italian gourmet foods. It’s expensive but the food is very well chosen and delicious.
Now Eataly has opened a Nutella Bar in the space that used to house it’s wine shop, which has run foul of state regulations about both owning a winery and selling wine.
You can have your Nutella on crepes, bread, coissants or anything really and you can of course buy a jar of it to take home.
Nutella is made by an Italian company and has sugar, palm oil, hazelnuts, chocolate and milk powder in the mixture.
Nutritionally it’s not right up there with stand out health foods. It has a very high percentage of sugar and saturated fat. As well there’s a whack of sodium and a very small amount of protein.
So it’s strictly a guilty pleasure folks, one to be indulged infrequently if you are into health foods, but of course it is totally delicious, so keep a jar on hand for comfort food when you need it if it is one of your favorite spreads. Or you can pop into Eataly and add in the comfort of being well looked after while you indulge in your Nutella snack.
