This year’s Gay Pride March in NYC was more than usually prideful and painful. Yes Stonewall Inn has just been made a national monument but while good, it’s not enough to take awy the pain of the Orlando massacre.
Perhaps it is the still painful reminder of Orlando that made this year’s demonstration of inclusion so much more heartfelt. Every religious group and every body of law and order officers was represented.
Celebration with gays of the muslim faith was particularly heartfelt and boisterous. And as the floats went past the crowd roared and danced, showing that spirit of togetherness and inclusion that is at the heart of NYC life.
