A hiker, Amanda Graham, was walking along a trail by the edge of the palisades which front the Hudson river.
Then she rolled her foot on a rock, broke her ankle and fell off the trail.
She grabbed a rock to slow her fall but still finished up in a frightening position and in danger of falling into the Hudson 200 ft below.
Some local volunteer fireifghters tried to help but couldn’t and called the NYPD.
2 rescue helicopters were dispatched and as you can see in the video she was winched to safety.
However while the whole operation went smoothly it sure looked scarey for her as she was winched aboard the helicopter. Thank you NYPD, great work.
