Riding the subway is THE intimate interractive experience above all others in NYC. No matter which way you cut it, there’s no way to escape the reality that fellow passengers, eat, fight, burst into song, get interviewed, do handstands, unfairly take up too much space, completely ignore others, totally intrude on others, strip or like they did recently take part in a fahion show while riding the subway.
It was a small but effective fashion show, suitably grungy in color which seems to be thing about this February’s 2015′s New York Fashion Week. And on the whole the clothes seemed suited to the cold, cold weather though therewas one unfortunately bare shouldered beauty. It’s obvious from the video how respectfully fellow passengers treated the models when they created a short runway down the center of a carriage. Very much in the spirit of ‘anything goes’ in subway land. And the models managed to retain their ‘I’m not a person just a clotheshorse’, look even though they were so close to all the onlookers.
Congrats to Kim Mesches, the designer who recognized that NYC’s subway is just so the right place to do a fashion performance in NYC.
