The great online innovator Steve Rosenbaum (Curation nation), has recently given a nod to the efforts in NYC to support budding NYC IT/video geniuses.
Firstly there’s the NYU – Poly Incubator (in DUMBO & Manhattan) where the guys/gals with ideas get to make presentations and collect support and critiques to help them develop commercially successful apps
Given guidance, expertise and resources it is hoped they will become personally successful and therefore successful contributors to NYC’s economy.
Then there’s the New York Video Meetup which brings together video innovators and online entrepreneurs who bounce ideas off each other and help each other creatively. If you have an interest in this area look them up.
See the video which is about one guy who has used the NYU – Poly Incubator to develop a new app which has been a success and he’s an example of the way New Yorkers are making use of the opportunities available to them.
An important emerging trend which everyone is paying attention to is supporting viewers, (that’s us!) in becoming part of the creative process and active participants in what is produced. All exciting, all in New York. LIKE New Yorkers contributing to a better future.
