Each year the US Trust for Public Land does a survey of all parks in the US and ranks each state on a range of measures to find the states with the best and worst parks provided for it’s citizens.
In an article in the NYT the results are given with NYC being at No2, one rank higher than last year.
Minneapolis ranks No 1 and the only thing holding NYC back from being No.1 is the overall size of NY parks, a dimension it is hard to change given the geography.
However 96% of NYC residents are within a 10 minute walk of a park and the % of available land devoted to parks is very high indeed.
