New York can’t lay claim to having invented Paint Nite but I bet there aren’t many places in America where people wanting to get on board with this have such a rich choice of bars at which it is held.
So what is Paint Nite? It’s a chance to go along to a bar on your own or with a group of pals and paint over a 2 hr period.
It will cost you $65 and for that you get a canvas, paints, acrylics, an apron and an experienced teacher. See the website here Paintnite.
Their website lists bars in the Meatpacking district, Tribeca, Upper West Side and Brooklyn
One of the bars at which it is held is Revel’s In the Meatpacking District and you’ll quickly realize that this is something aimed at the seriously cool, if the location of the bars offering Paint Nite hadn’t already tipped you off.
The thing is it sounds like a lot of fun, so there’s no reason you can’t rock up with your zimmer frame and dash off a great painting then knock back some cocktails. Those youngsters don’t know as much as you about having fun as you do! LIKE doing really interesting things with friends.
