After being sidelined for much of 2012 by a triceps tear, Ray Lewis, linebacker, is about to have his last game of pro football.
He retires having played for the Ravens exclusively for his whole pro football career, the only player now left from the Ravens Inaugural team.
His legend status has been earned. He’s been selected to 13 Pro Bowls and names an Associated Press All-Pro 13 times.
He is the second linebacker to win the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Award and the first to win the Award on the winning Super Bowl team.
It’s hard to shine brightly as a linebacker. He’s done it and everyone who admires his football skill will hope he is wearing his No 52 shirt to victory for a final note of glory.
Whichever, as a footballer he has our respect and admiration and he’s going out at the top at what will be a hard fought Super Bowl.
