After a prolonged Aaaah after seeing these adorable critters in the video you can take yourself down to the World Conservation Society’s Zoo in Prospect Park Brooklyn and see them in person.
The woolly ones with big but hard to see ears are Titi monkeys and the ones with white faces are White Faced Saki monkeys. The Titi’s are new arrivals and the white faced guys have been hanging out in Brooklyn for awhile. Both species are indigenous to South Anerica but they are under threat.
Sadly the fate of these beautiful creatures rests on the efforts of organizations like the World Conservation Society to ensure they have a future. On the weekend of February 27 and 28 the Zoo is holding a special series of events celebrating the Lunar New Year and monkeys. Go here : Prospect Park Zoo for what’s on when.
