Ringling Bros know a thing or two about marketing so to publicize the current season of their Circus at Barclays Center until April 1 they had a street parade in Brooklyn and Brooklyn Borough President declared it Circus Day.
The king Charles Unicycle Group led off with the clowns following and then eight female asian elephants danced their way down to the Center. Hard to beat that.
You will be unsurprised to learn that the school kids watching found it magical and one tot declared “I’ve never seen elephants before”,see here..
There was an animal rights protest as well from PETA, People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals, and it’s excellent that on our behalf they keep an eye on how all animals are treated.
Ringling Bros fired back with a long list of the things they do to keep their elephants in great shape. They also said they use asian elephants because they are near extinction and Ringling Bros wants to help rebuild their population.
Good to know that all the glitter and fun of a Circus is still there to be enjoyed by everyone and that a new generation of children are being introduced to it’s pleasures. COMMENT on whether you think circuses are kind to animals and LIKE going to the circus.
