Meet ‘Tile’ the gadget that means you never have to lose or have stolen anything ever again in New York.
It’s a 1″ x 1″ tile that you can attach in a variety of ways to phones, bags, wallets, keys, clothing or anything and from then on you can always find nayhting you’ve lost or had stolen.
This product has had a rapturous reception right from when it”s inventors crowdsourced it’s initial developmental costs.
Now that it’s on sale, its creators Mike Farley and Nick Evans are finding eager venture capitalists who want in on the product.
You can go to Tile App Orders and place your orders if you want to try it out.
You find your lost ‘whatever’ using your smart phone and if it’s been stolen, the entire community of owners are notififed and their apps tell you where it is when they are near it. It seems to me the one developmental issue the creators should focus on, is how to make sure thieves can’t detach the tile once it is attached. If they can totally make sure that never happens then a lot of theft in NYC is going to stop.
