Once eye makeup was much more uniform than it is today. Now, not only do specific designers create a special look for their models when they parade at New York Fashion Week but some people make their eye make-up the focus of their own ‘look’ dressing to show off their eyes not the other way round.
So we can some see some wonderful and creative eye make-up around town that is an inspiration to us all.
In the video clip I notice that the trend there is for fairly nude eye makeup with one big standout element such as amazing lashes or dark smudging above and below the eye.
Others have commented on how the 2013 spring/summer trends seem to have clear historical precedent, see here, with a number of 60′s and 40′s influences being seen.
Such as the heavy, heavy cats eye line along the top of the eyelid with a curl up at the end. And from the 60′s the psychedelic iridescent purples, pinks and blues being used both on the eyelid and above.
Curly lashes are in too but the biggest trends do seem to be the almost nude look with a standout feature sometimes smudging above or below the eye or a lot of attention to the lashes. Or the almost nude eye complemented by the use of a standout lipstead, usually bright red. LIKE playing with different eye looks
