Now if you want to own the whole thing you will have to get a loan from Fort Knox.
But if you have a spare $300,000+ you can grab a share. Kind of.
After a long complicated fight between shareholders there is about to be an IPO allowing ordinary mortals to buy in if they want.
But in true Wall St fashion nothing is all that straightforward. The shareholders who didn’t want the IPO are suing to overturn the court mandated opportunity for ordinary folk to buy in.
The IPO goes ahead but if you buy you might lose it all if the decision is overturned. Sounds like a Dr Seuss story doesn’t it, and he would always have a moral in there somewhere.
What if the moral is ‘Beauty is it’s own reward’ because this building symbolizes NYC and it’s a marvel to behold being classic and arresting in every way. Making it about the price of share takes away from that. Lets settle for all NYC owning this building, as it does, and leave the squabbling alone. LIKE NYC’s famous landmarks
