This will be the first super bowl played outside in cold weather conditions.
The forecast is for a high of 37 degrees with a possible low of 20.
On the video there’s news the Farmer’s Almanac, which claims an 80 -85% accuracy rate, predicts an icy snow storm Feb 1-3.
As well as the outside in the cold weather first, there’s a lot of other firsts attached to this Super bowl. The first time 2 cities, New York and New jersey, have co-hosted the Super Bowl and the first time in 38 years the game has been played on artificial turf.
It has already been announced that if Feb 2 is to be snowed out the game will be shifted to Saturday or Monday or Tuesday.
Of course there will be big logistical problems whichever way it goes to enable the half time show to take place in very cold conditions. Thank heavens new York and New Jersey are just plumb full of people who can tackle just about anything and make it work. LIKE that New York always rises to the challenge.
